My grandmother decided to move out of her dark cave and move to a place closer to her family. My parents were helping her sort through her stuff. I had to wait to go home, so I took my time to rummage through her jewelry. I was lucky enough for her to give some to me, and I felt honored to add some beautiful jewelry to my bare collection:

The winter season is coming up, and what's the worse thing than our beautiful locks covered up by the warmth of our knitted hats? Even though, it keeps us from the bitter cold it does give us the unforgiving hat hair that we all anticipate. Hat hair is not the only enemy to our winter blues but also winter could be very damaging to our hair and will allow our beautiful locks to become damage/break. Therefore, there are some few tips to take to take care of our beautiful locks:
1. Avoid showering every day (come on now, we can at least take one day break), and deep conditioner every time. Deep conditioning may be a bit boring waiting five minutes for our hair to soak and replenish. However, take the few extra minutes to think about the day/and how to tackle tomorrow with beautiful locks. Some of my favorite deep conditioners:
(Which on Amazon has gotten 4 1/2 out of 5 stars! Thumbs up!)
After changing my hair from black to blonde in a matter of three months, this product was a savior to my damaging hair. With a few other tricks, and this baby right here my hair was back to beautiful right away! This product specifically with the addition to "moisture treatment" is helpful because moisture is what the hair lacks in the winter season. ALSO, another trick that I found helped was to wash with COLD water. Spending so much time in the salons taught me that hot water damages the hair faster by creating dry, brittle hair. Using this product and cold water will leave your hair soft, and beautiful for the time where your hair will break out of it's winter cocoon.
Avoid too much combing, and heavy combing at least. The hair could become brittle with over-exposure to the hair brush. Therefore, brush with a wide-tooth comb and start from the BOTTOM to UP. Never go from UP TO BOTTOM. Never. Ever. Got it? I like the Silk Elements Olive Oil Wide Tooth Conditioning because it serves two purposes in which helps get the tangles out of the locks and also conditions the hair with the olive oil. Olive Oil is a old-school trick for shiny, soft hair. It has been known to keep a bit of olive oil in your bathroom and to put some olive oil in the palm of your hand and apply some at the tips and throughout the hair. Not too much because then the hair will become greasy but just a touch will do the trick. After, you will also realize even your finger tips have become soft. Olive oil is a great product for cooking and beauty.
The use of household materials could: a) save you money b) understand/know what you are applying to your hair c) helpful to the locks. The combination of 1 RIPED avocado, one teaspoon of yogurt, and 1/2 teaspoon of honey is a perfect combination to fight off dry, brittle hair. Avocado is perfect for the skin/hair as it's packed with healthy fats that help repair hair. One you have mixed this combination, condition through hair, and use saran wrap to seal the conditioner. Also, sit with this combination on for about twenty minutes to a half a hour. Sit down and watch your favorite show! Before you know it, you'll have conditioned, soft, hair! One key tip about beauty is to never forget about the household materials and hair/skin wonders that lay in your fridge. By creating homemade masks allows for the hair to stay away from extra harmful chemicals.
Another key element of how to save your locks for the winter, is to never go outside with wet hair. If so, this will also call for an emergency case of breakage (even if, cracking your hair is fun). Therefore, always leave the house with dried hair (try not to use too much heat, try blow drying on cold). And to cover up! The weather elements can become very damaging for our hair. Therefore, put on a pretty silk wrap around the hair or a COTTON hat. Try to stay away from wool or acrylic because both generate more static than cotton. Cotton & Silk coverups can be a life savor to the daily runs to the local coffee shop or participating in winter activities. Also, could be worn beautifully!
AND THAT'S THE GUIDE TO HAVE BEAUTIFUL WINTER LOCKS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SO HAPPY THAT YOU WILL ALSO, BE ABLE TO WHIP YOUR HAIR BACK AND FORTH JUST LIKE WILLOW SMITH!

Time to go to Mass Appeal, and let's hope I don't die because of this terrible crippling body thing that I am suffering over. Mass Appeal is the Elmwood (this really cool, artsy (which kind of turned into a fashion type of place) of Buffalo)'s fashion show! I am so excited because this is one of the FIRST fashion shows I have ever attended in my life! And I am 19..what happened there? Hopefully, they allow camera's in and I can get some pretty awesome shots of my night!
